"Laugh now, but one day..."

So che suonerà strano a tanti, ma personalmente trovo che molte immagini di Robin Schwartz siano in qualche modo inquietanti, in particolare alcune dalla sua serie Animal Affinity o i suoi Primate Portraits. Il modo in cui sua figlia Amelia a volte si trova circondata da animali mi fa pensare a un'invasione sottile da parte di forze che pensiamo di conoscere e controllare, ma che hanno una propria vita e un proprio mistero che non potremo mai comprendere del tutto...

In breve, mi hanno fatto pensare alla minaccia della scimmia di Banksy...

Da confrontare con una altro esempio di legame esasperato e (per me) problematico tra madre e figlia, il lavoro di Edith Maybin.

I know it will sound weird to many, but personally I find that many pictures by Robin Schwartz are somehow disturbing, especially some from her Animal Affinity series or her Primate Portraits. The way her daughter Amelia is sometimes surrounded by animals makes me think of a subtle invasion by forces we think we know and can control, but that have a life of their own, with a mistery we'll never fully understand...

Short, I made a funny immediate connection with the monkey's warning by Banksy...

To be compared with another example of mother/daughter extreme and (to me) troubling connection, Edith Maybin's work.
