Since I've just mentioned the plethora of examples of photographic creativity showcased by the activities and publications of Dutch group Fw:, I cannot avoid mentioning Jaap Scheeren's art, a roller coaster of inventions where the real common ground seems to be forcing the viewer to lose direction and enter a world where what looks familiar always hides a stranger's face.
When it comes to photography it is often easy to fall in the dilemma between taking and making images, and which really prevails on the other in the end: Schereen's work is the real antidote to the question, everything is in the photographer's mind and it is brought to light to be shared with us.

Hyeres, 2007Visto che ho appena menzionato l'ampio catalogo di creatività fotografica proposto dalle attività delgruppo olandese Fw:, non posso non citare il lavoro di Jaap Scheeren, un ottovolante di invenzioni dove l'elemento comune reale sembra essere il costringere chi guarda a perdere l'orientamento, per entrare in un mondo dove anche quello che appare più familiare nasconde un volto sconosciuto.
In fotografia si finisce spesso a discutere della differenza tra il prendere e il fare delle immagini e su cosa prevalga tra i due ogni volta: le immagini di Scheeren sono come l'antidoto al dilemma, tutto semplicemente nasce nella mente del fotografo per essere poi portato alla luce e messo di fronte a noi.
