Sharing images

Berta, Guapamacataro, Mexico, 2009

Getting in touch with people who want to share their contribution to the photographic world is one of the main reason I keep writing on this blog. Sometimes it evolves into a correspondence, sometimes I am terribly late in answering, sometimes I don't even answer at all, out of hectic days, distraction or any other unsufficient reason I can come up with to justify what is only a lack of attention. So my thanks to all the people who keep writing me must come together with an apology to anybody I did not answer to, or was really late in doing it. I hope I will keep receiving inputs from all you people out there, they are nourishment and reward for any word that I write here. The latest message in a bottle that reached me was sent by Lorena Endara, a photographer from Panama that shows us her native landscape through the contradictions battling on its very ground: she demonstrates how landscape photography can contribute in analyising and understanding a territory, and her portrait works are the perfect example of what discreetness can achieve in depicting human figures, using the environment around them to tell their stories, leaving that distance between them and the camera that sometimes feels like the air someone needs to breathe.
