Le sue immagini mi hanno ricordato l'epico American Pictures di Jacob Holdt, una specie di discesa agli inferi atraverso Ku Klux Klan, senzatetto e 'la disperazione, la fame e l'apatia che derivano dall'oppressione', ma fatta con il sorriso sul volto.

Maxim Ryazansky wrote to me to point out his new work on the Westboro Baptist Church, the anti-everything-but-themselves religious group from Kansas, famous for picketing at funerals of gay people with banners reading gentle thoughts like 'God hates fags'. What else to say, I couldn't help but post about his work, which is like a collection of scattered fragments of the insanity behind the mask of the American normal life, a crazy tour through racist protests, pet beauty contests, car shows and shooting ranges.
His work somehow reminded me of the epic American Pictures by Jacob Holdt, a journey to hell and back between Ku-Klux_Klan, homeless people and 'the despair, hunger and apathy resulting from oppression', but done with a smile on the face.
