Inventare lo zero

Frédéric Delangle ha fotografato la più grande città dello stato Indiano del Gujarat, Ahmedabad (qui la seconda parte), da mezzanotte alle cinque del mattino, con l’intento di eliminare quel “trop de tout”, per "inventare lo zero", come scrive nell’introduzione al lavoro. Il risultato è molto affascinante ed è curioso guardare delle fotografie notturne senza la consueta disciplina fatta di strutture, assenze e atarassia, dove al contrario gli spazi sono “animati” e le strutture dei quartieri e delle strade danno ancora una sensazione di vita pulsante.
Da segnalare, tra gli altri suoi lavori, la serie Coit, lunghe esposizioni di coppie che fanno l’amore, un’interessante rappresentazione di corpi trasfigurati dal tempo della loro unione.

Delangle curerà insieme a Massimo Sordi la campagna fotografica "Ipotesi di paesaggio 3" finalizzata alla lettura del paesaggio del Parco del Rubicone (Savignano sul Rubicone - FC) che si terrà dal 4 al 7 giugno, giorni nei quali sarà anche possibile incontrare l'autore partecipando a laboratori e ad incontri (altre informazioni qui).

Frédéric Delangle photographed Ahmedabad (also here), the largest town of the Indian state of Gujarat, and he did it only at night, from midnight to five a.m. The goal was to avoid all the “trop du tout” of the town, to “invent the zero”, as he wrote in the introduction. The result is quite interesting, night images without the usual structure made of buildings, empty spaces and that overall sense of absence and stillness, where places are still filled with a feeling of activity and the neighborhoods and their streets are somehow vibrant with life.
Another interesting work (among many others) is Coit, a sequence of long exposures of couples making love, images of bodies transformed by the duration of their union.

Delangle will work together with Massimo Sordi on a photographic project called “Ipotesi di paesaggio 3”, a visual exploration of the area of the park of Rubicone in Northern Italy, from June 4 to 7 (workshops and lectures are also scheduled in those days - more infos here).
