Una rinfrescata sulla fotografa vietnamita An-My Lê, il cui nuovo lavoro (a colori) Events Ashore debutta alla galleria Murray Guy di New York (buffo segnalare questi eventi dall'Italia, ma pazienza).
Si tratta di un lavoro che affronta "l'incrociarsi dei temi dell'esplorazione scientifica, del potere militare, delle crisi ambientali, le fantasie di dominio e gli immensi e ingovernabili oceani che collegano le nazioni e i continenti". Basterebbe già questa premessa...
Ovviamente ho visto solo alcune riproduzioni online, ma la sensazione è che il suo lavoro continui a essere davvero splendido.
Da vedere anche lo speciale su di lei realizzato dalla PBS.

A quick refresh about Vienamese photographer An-My Lê, to mention that her new work Events Ashore (in color) has made its debut at the Murray Guy gallery in New York (really funny to report the event from Italy...).
The project examines "the intersecting themes of scientific exploration, military power, environmental crises, fantasies of empire and the vast ungovernable oceans that connect nations and continents".
The statement is already quite intriguing...
I obviously saw just a bunch of reproductions online, but the feeling is that her work is again really wonderful.
